The Learning Lab

TERM 2 2026

Small Group Literacy and Numeracy Program (Kindy - Year 2)
Learning Lab sessions are drop-and-go, small-group lessons designed to support school-aged learners through targeted literacy and numeracy instruction. Each 40 minute session is delivered by a qualified Little Thinkers Educator and follows a consistent, child-friendly structure that balances explicit teaching with play-based and collaborative learning. Students attend their allocated session according to year level, creating a focused and supportive learning environment.

Literacy activities may include phonics and sound-letter work, guided reading, word building, spelling games, handwriting support and early writing tasks.

Numeracy learning is embedded through hands-on games and activities such as number sense development, counting and place value, simple addition and subtraction, patterning, measurement and problem-solving.

Sessions are interactive and engaging, using purposeful games and small-group discussion to build confidence, independence, and a positive relationship with learning, while still maintaining clear learning intentions and outcomes.
